Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday organised a Cybercrime awareness Program at STC BSF Humhama, Budgam which was attended by officers and Jawans of Border Security Force (BSF).
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar here Additional SP Budgam Gowhar Ahmed Khan hosted the event. While speaking on the occasion the Additional SP said that the main motive behind conducting such programme is to spread awareness about various cyber frauds among the officers and Jawans of security forces. ASP Budgam also briefed about various types of cyber threats/activities viz, Malware attacks, Ransomware, OLX fraud, KYC scam, Identity theft, investment Scam, Loan offer Fraud etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairing officer advised that since cybercrime has increased manifold and security men are main targets, so the officers/Jawans need to observe high level of alertness especially those working on computer systems. He also appealed to the participants to remain extra cautious about the risks associated with digital transactions and social media applications in use. He also advised the participants to observe utmost caution as this is the age of Cyber Warfare. Besides, the participants were also briefed about the various cyber laws which are applicable against criminals.
