Reasi: An awareness programme on PMFME ODOP was conducted on Saturday in SDAO Office Complex Dharmari.
More than 60 farmers including unemployed youth participated in the camp held under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer and DNO PMFME Harbans Singh.
The program was inaugurated by District Agriculture Officer Rajesh Verma in presence of Agriculture Extension officer Anil Thakur, JAEO ThurooPankaj Sharma, concerned JAEOs and AEAs and other officials of allied Departments.
Sarpanches Ch John Mohammad., Mohammad Aslam, NaibSarpanchesPrem Singh, Abdul GhaniChib and other PRI Members and members of Umeed Women SHGs participated in the camp.
The District Agriculture officer gave a detailed presentation on the scheme and enjoined upon the youth to set up micro food processing units of Mustard Chutney, Chillies powder packing & marketing, spices grinding, garlic paste etc.
Anil Thakur, AEO elaborated the eligibility and terms of subsidy, interest and other related details of scheme.
Liaqat Ali, DRP also addressed the farmers and highlighted the steps being taken for the implementation of the scheme by encouraging the youth of the far flung areas of the District.
Sarpanches of the Thuroo block lauded the efforts of the agriculture department in mitigating the problems of the farming community in remote and hilly areas. Vote of thanks was presented by SarpanchCh John Mohd.
