JMC organises awareness, service delivery camps under Jan Abhiyan Sheri Campaign

Jammu : Different activities are being conducted by Jammu Municipal Corporation under the Jan Abhiyan Campaign launched ahead of Second Phase of My Town My Pride.

A NukkadNatak was presented Saturday, highlighting the necessity of Sanitation and solid waste management and achieving a polythene free city. A plantation drive was also conducted by the Jammu Municipal Corporation in the Green Belt Park, Ward No. – 20, Gandhi Nagar.

Deputy Mayor, BaldevBillawaria; Chairpersons of standing committees Raj Kumar Tarkhan, Ajay Gupta and Ex-Mayor, JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, Corporator, Sham Basson along with officers, staff members and a large number of prominent citizens were present on the occasion.

Deputy Mayor, JMC, while speaking on the occasion stressed the need to restrict use of plastic carry bags and stressed upon the need to adopt the habit of using cloth bags. He requested everyone to plant atleast one tree in their area to make the environment clean and green.

Meanwhile, an Interactive session with the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation on the Corruption Free India was held under the guidance of Mayor, Jammu in the conference Hall of JMC under My Town My Pride 2.0.

The Mayor stressed upon to curb the menace of corruption from the society. “It is the need of the hour to weed out corruption and every officer, staff member and every citizen shall make this a mass movement and shall work with coordinated efforts to bring pragmatic change,” he added. He said everyone should participate whole heartedly in the campaign to eliminate corruption from our society. He further said that corruption was the main obstacle in the development of our country.

Earlier, a Bicycle rally was organised by Jammu Municipal Corporation from General Bus Stand Jammu to Kala Kendera.   Commissioner, JMC, Rahul Yadav, Joint Commissioner (R&E), JMC, Hitesh Gupta and many other officers/officials participated in the event. The objective of the rally was to spread awareness among the general public about the importance of maintaining sanitation and keeping Jammu City clean and green.

The JMC also organised several Public Service Delivery camps under My Town My Pride to provide all its online services to the people at their doorstep.

Officials of other line departments like Handicraft, J&K Bank, JUDA, Skill development, Social Welfare etc were also present in the camps to impart people awareness regarding schemes of their respective departments.
