Student induction Prog concludes at GCET Jmu

Jammu  :  Two-week student induction program for B.E- first year students, 2022 batch, organized by the student induction program cell, GCET, Jammu, as per the guidelines of AICTE, culminated  here on Friday. The program was organized under the Patronage of Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET.

During the valedictory function, Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma, appreciated students for their enthusiastic participation in the induction programme for their inclusive development of personality. She further stated that it was designed not only to guide students for various job prospects but also to explore their latent talent and creativity. On this occasion Prof. (Dr) Bhopinder Singh interacted with the students and motivated them to be focused in their studies, to achieve their goal.

The closing address was delivered by Prof. (Dr) Anita Brar, Coordinator for Student induction program. She highlighted the objective of the programme to make students inquisitive learners, socially conscious, ethically and morally upright individuals.

The program was followed by lectures and interactive sessions by experts and eminent speakers from reputed institutes/ companies across the country. Several doubts and queries were raised by the students during the interactive session and were answered amicably by the experts. All the sessions were interactive, motivating and insightful. Interactive sessions on “Stress Management” were given by Dr. MeenakshiKotwaland  PrabhaSalathia.  SurajParkashRakwaland  Sukhmini Pal Kour delivered lectures on “Time Management” and motivated students to give impetus to their creative pursuits.

An energetic session by Sandeep Sharma and Sanjeev Kumar on “Yog” was well received which stimulated the minds of students for a healthy and stress free life. Enlightening sessions on “Personality Development, Communication Skills and Interpersonal Relationships” were shared by Dr. Neena Gupta Vij, Dr. Jaya Bhasin from Central University Jammu and Dr. Nancy Handoo. Immediate attention grabber and motivational lectures on how to be a successful entrepreneur and the exposure of campus to corporate were shared by Dr. SahidMustaq,  JoyGanjoo and Er. Pankaj Sharma.

Faculty from Host College also hold sessions on various topics like “counselling and T&P activity by Dr. Ajay Abrol and Er. Manoj Gupta where as Dr. Sarbjeet Singh talked about Innovation and startup followed by an energizing session on Music and laughter therapy by Er.NirajDubey. All the sessions were appreciated by the students. Certificates were given to all the eminent speakers and to the student winners of different events.

Beside this, other events like poster making, slogan writing, rangoli and sports activities were also a part of the programme. The plantation drive was organized in the gracious presence of Prof. (Dr) Bhopinder Singh, Head applied Sciences and was witnessed by Heads of different departments, Coordinator Induction programme, Committee members and the students. The program was attended by around 190 students.

The organizing team, comporising Dr. Dina Nath,  Shammi Kumar, Dr. Raman Gupta, Dr. HeeraSaini, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. AmbikaBhat,  Altaf Ahmed, Er. Karan Kapoor, Er. SurinderSalathia, Er. Ajay Gupta, Er. Bharat Bushan, Er. Rajesh Mantoo, Er. Ajay Attri and Balbir Singh and students from 3rd Semester made a remarkable contribution to make the programme successful. Dr. Rajinder Singh presented a formal vote of thanks.
