Budgam : The District Hub for Empowerment of Women Budgam on Thursday organised an awareness programme on women centric government schemes at Anganwadi centre PanchayatShamasabad of Khansahib
The main objective of this camp was to provide basic information to potential women beneficiaries at their doorsteps and to ensure their enrollment in various beneficiary-oriented, welfare, and self-employment programmes, said the District Mission Coordinator.
She apprised the local women about DHEW and its objectives.
The programme was attended by the local women of the area. The participants were apprised about different schemes currently active in the department of Social Welfare like old age pension scheme, schemes for women in distress (divorce/widow/destitute), schemes for physically challenged persons, UDID, financial assistance like Tajeswani, JKEDI, DIC, Skill India etc
Gender Specialists informed participants about restructured marriage assistance and many other schemes being implemented by the department of Handicrafts and Handloom, schemes in ICPS like sponsorship schemes, women helpline 181, one stop centre and the programs available to the women affected by violence were also discussed in detail.
Participants raised many queries and grievances and the same were taken into account with due diligence and immediate necessary action was assured with regard to remaining queries and grievances.
