SKIMS Celebrates World Radiography Day

Srinagar : On World Radiography Day Department of Radiodiagnosis SKIMS in association with Indian Society of Radiographers & Technologists ( ISRT) Srinagar Academic Club  celebrated World Radiography Day on this year’s theme ”  Radiographers at the forefront of the patient safety” on Tuesday at Gandhi Bhawan  Auditorium Kashmir University.

According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office SKIMS, Director SKIMS/ EOSG Prof. Parvaiz A. Koul who was the chief guest on the occasion complimented the organisers of the event. While speaking on the occasion he underscored the importance of Radiologists and Radiographers in patient care management and hoped that the deliberations of the today’s event will benefit the participants. “Radiographers& Radiologists are critical to diagnosis of the disease and any treatment is incomplete without them, he added.

In his address, Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS Prof. Bashir A. Laway, Prof. Irfan Robbani Principal SKIMS Medical College,  Dr. Shiekh Riyaz organising  chairman of the  event  and HOD Radiology SKIMS MC Dr. Mohd. Farooq Mir also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the organising committee for organizing the event.

During the event scientific sessions were conducted which were  chaired by prominent scientists & academicians. The scientific sessions covered varied topics of academic importance including Standard Operating Procedures in Radiology Department, Role of MRI technique to reduce motion of artifacts in Pediatric brain, Imaging in Pediatric radiology different future from the past etc.

The function concluded with valedictory function in which guests and participants were felicitated. The event was participated by students and faculty from different institutions.

Prof. Feroz Shaheen HOD Radiodiagnosis & Imaging SKIMS  & Organising secretary of the event Bilal Ahmad the special invitees from Indian Society of Radiographers & Technologists including Mohan Bhaghwat Assistant Professor Jamia Hamdard University New Delhi, Anto Ramesh Delvi , Chairman & Managing Director Radblox Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. C. Senthimal Selvian Assistant Prof. cum Research Safety Officer Department of Radiodiagnos Puducherry were present on the occasion.
