Humans & Humanity

God created this universe, so created humans, animals, birds etc. Among all, He has given humans the title of crown of the all creations, i,e. ASHRAF-UL-MAKHLUKAT, which means humans are superior than all other creatures living on the planet earth. He sent down humans on the planet earth with an objective, aim, vision, mission and purpose. He bestowed us with so many natural resources so that we can use them for our convenience and to satisfy our needs and wants and in turn nature will remain balanced. But unfortunately, we didn’t do anything like that we have been sent for. We have created a mess in this universe with our actions thoughts, ideas and above all with our greed. I would like to quote some beautiful Kashmiri poetic verses of a famous Kashmiri poet,
“Che aousukh gaat-e-jaruk noor insaanov,
Che loguth naar insaanov”
Karith insaaniyath badnaam, haa baiaar insaanov.”
“che thavainai qudratan panen khazanan thand machravith,
Che aousui bagrith khun , banoikh shahmaar insaanov.”
Almighty Allah send us down on the earth with lots of avenues and facilities, the unimaginable resources and we were asked to use them judiciously and maintain peace and harmony. He has told us through His Messengers that we can use these resources abundantly. These all meaningful resources is surely the unending treasure to humanity in the form of precious gift. But Alas! we didn’t value them at all. We have become so selfish and greedy that we don’t even want to share them with our fellow beings. In order to became rich and powerful, we don’t even think that we are killing our own loved ones, disturbing the smooth functioning of the nature. We created so many things which are used for mere destruction. We could have used our innovative inventions and discoveries in a positive way, but we never. We seem to be after the power and materialism. We want to gain power in any way, by hook or by crook. To become rich and powerful, we are going far beyond the limits without bothering about anything. As a writer, I personally felt that, when a person discovers or invents something. He should usually think for the positive aspect of it. He should have thought to give benefit to others. But as soon as his invention is ready to use, he forgets everything and seems ready to sell off it to the hands of enemies for some pennies. This is not less than a human catastrophe in the making. On the other side, let me talk about the other dimension of human devastation. Now-a- days our society is involved in so many evils. We are involved in Drug addictions, theft, illegal possessions, eve teasing, jealousy, dowry, murders, etc. I have a personal experience to witness some marriage ceremonies in the past two months. I perhaps attended three to four marriage functions and found one thing common i,e. extravagantly. We spend a lot of money on things which can be done with simplicity. We just only want to tell people that we are so rich, we can do this or that. We don’t even want to think of others who could not effort it. We don’t think of that person who is a labour and has saved money from past 20-30 years for his daughter’s marriage.
When we have ourselves created a lot of customs in the society. Then how can we hope that all the daughters will get their matches at their right age? How can a poor father manage such huge cost? We spend a lot of money on these lavish occasions. Isn’t this a huge catastrophe? Can’t we use our money in a proper and manageable way, so that everyone comes into the safe zone. Why don’t we think of others in our locality? Another thing which is seen in our society i.e jealousy, if a person comes forward to do something good for the society. A huge group of people takes oath to let him down rather than appreciating him. We start to tease and demotivate him rather than coming forward and provide him a helping hand. There is another thing in our society that I want to mention here is the menace of drug abuse. I have seen so many young boys and girls consuming drugs. These drugs are taking toll of lives on every passing day. Our religion has prohibited us from consuming all those substances that are harmful to health and makes us unconscious. Why are our young boys and girls using these substances? Aren’t they being loved by their families, their parents and friends. What sort of trauma compels them to consume such contraband and psychotic drugs. We as humans were supposed to do good to others but the reality is that, we are doing opposite of it. We always make plans and policies for the downfall of our own brothers. Finally, I want to conclude my viewpoint with a fact that humans are known as the best creation of God in the universe. We have been gifted with brains, logics, rationalism, and intelligent quotient. The whole universe is a beautiful place to live in. We need to review the human traits, qualities, actions, and instincts inside us so that we could reach the level of extreme humanity. If we want to live in peace and harmony, then we need to change our mindset and behaviour. In form we are humans but far from humanity. If we want to avoid the awaiting human catastrophe, then definitely we should learn to love and be loved. We should respect the feelings and emotions of others. May Almighty God prevail richness in your thoughts and bestow the mankind with unending blessings and mercies. (Ameen!).
