Ramban : Special Secretary to Youth Services & Sports Department, Rakesh Magotra, on Saturday inaugurated the Boxing competitions for Boys and Girls here under Jan Abhiyan at Panchyat Govindpura Maitra A.
Officers of the Department, PRIs and concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
The Boxing competition was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in the district under the supervision of DYSSO, Dharamvir Singh Chib
Speaking on the occasion, the Special Secretary said that the main aim to organize sports events during the Jan Abhiyan was to channelize the energy of youth in the right direction. The sports events being held under Jan Abhiyan will help the youth to make their career in the field of Games and Sports.
The Special Secretary said sportsmanship will help the youth to become mentally and physically fit, besides keep them away the youth from the evils of drug addiction.
Later, the Special Secretary also distributed prizes and Kits among the participating teams.
