Jammu : A special meeting of Manoranjan Kala Kendra, Jammu was held at its rehearsal site at M C Khalsa Institute of Education, Chand Nagar, Jammu. Senior artist & social activist Jang S. Verman presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by the artists/ members of the Kendra to have discussions on scripts of four Punjabi plays written by well known writers of Punjab, and which were read out by Tejinder Singh Premee, Secretary, Manoranjan Kala Kendra, Jammu.
The scripts read out in the programme for discussions included the script of ‘Terrorist Di Premika’ written by Pali Bhupinder, the second was ‘Katra Katra Zindagi’ written by Devinder Daman, the third plat was ‘Yudh Ate Budh’ written by Dr. Sahib Singh, and the fourth script read out was that of the play ‘Santaap’ written by Kapoor Singh Ghumman, the former Director of Languages Department at Punjabi University, Patiala. It was informed by Teninder Singh Premee, Sectrtary, MKK that the rehearsals for the first and second plays in reference would commence during the next month, and after getting approval and getting sanction letters from the concerned departments, the plays would be performed on stage.
In his presidential address Jang S. Verman appreciated the endeavours being undertaken by the Manoranjan Kala Kendra, Jammu. in his address he said that the organizations should become self sufficient so that they are not in a need for support from governmental bodies.
The members present in the meeting also expressed their views on the scripts and the functioning of the Kendra.
The artists/ members who attended the meeting included Mssrs. Makhan Lal Sharma, President, Tejinder Singh Premee, Secretary, Rajinder Narang, Amarjeet Kour, Capt. Harbans Singh, Suresh Puloutia, Ramesh Sharma, Shivpaul Singh and Ramesh Kumar.
