Weekly Block Diwas: Public outreach camps held at 5-locations in Doda; DDC chairs meet at Bulandpur

Doda :  To reach out to the people and resolve the grievances at their doorsteps and as a part of special initiative launched by the Government of J&K, District Administration Dodaon Wednesday held Block Diwas programs at five different locations.

The locations included Panchayat Sinoo, Gandoh, Higher Secondary School Shiva, Block Ghat, PanchayatBulandpur, Assar, PanchayatGhar/ Park Sindra, Block Bhalla, Sub District Bhaderwah, and Govt High School JasholaPanchayatBhallara, Tehsil Chiralla.

District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan listened to public grievances at PanchayatBulandpur of Assar Block.

The DDC also visited Government High School Bulanpur and interacted with students and the staff.

Responding to the issue of upgradation of HS Bulandpur to HSS level and shortage of staff in the school, the DC assured them that the Education Department has forwarded the case of upgradation to the government and is working on rationalization of the teaching staff.

On the shortage of medical staff at H&WC Bulandpur, the DDC informed that the issue has already been addressed by the department. The DDC talked on Jan Bhagidari/ People’s participation in public interest works and in bringing transparency and efficiency in the services delivery mechanism. He also asked the public, especially youth to come up with innovative ideas on all social and economic activities. He said the district administration will explore the possibility of promoting the tourism sector in the area by upgrading the basic Infrastructure and local interest.

He also distributed land pass books to the land owners and deliberated upon the essence of digitisation programme under JKLRMP (Jammu & Kashmir Land Records and Modernization Programme).

He also inaugurated the Business facility unit of JK bank in Bulandpur and visited KanderiNallahPahari fruit and vegetable cooperative marketing society and interacted with the stakeholders and vegetable growers of the area.

The DDC urged the public to participate in upcoming Back to Village programme to help administration assess the ground reality on implementation of government schemes and pace of developmental works. He also reiterated that Agriculture and Horticulture has great potential in the area which must be boosted for general prosperity of the area. He also asked public to participate in SwachGaon Sunder Gaon initiative and NashaMukht Bharat Abhiyaan.

The DC was accompanied by SSP Doda, SDM Assar, ACD Doda, Dy DE&CC, SE PWD, SE PMGSY, CMO Doda, CEO Doda, CAO Doda, DSHO, CAHO Doda, PRIs and other district and sectoral officers.

At other designated locations, public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.

The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
