Srinagar :  In order to inspect the pace and progress of various ongoing developmental projects undertaken in City, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad AijazAsad on Tuesday visited various areas in Eidgah Tehsil and took stock of the progress of works on 60 MLD In-fall Pumping Station at Ali Jan Road and 800-metre-long drain and footpath along Ali Masjid-Syedpora Road Axis.

While inspecting the progress and pace of work being executed on 60 MLD In-fall Pumping Station being carried out at Eidgah-Ali Jan Road by NBCC under Comprehensive Sewerage in Zone 3rd of Greater Srinagar, the DC expressed his displeasure over slow pace of work on the project.

The DC directed the concerned implementing agency to speed up the pace of work by employing additional men and machinery to ensure in-fall/outfall Pumping Stations are made fully operational at the earliest so that sewerage system in Srinagar is further improved. He said under the prestigious sewerage project about 17000 households are being connected with the 60 MLD In-fall Pumping Station to cater the major areas in the district.

He also asked the NBCC authorities to prioritize the completion of roadside works to pave way for black topping on the main road by R&B Department to ensure smooth ply of traffic movement.

Earlier, the DC also inspected the progress of ongoing works undertaken for construction of 800-metre-long drain and footpath along Ali Masjid-Syedpora Road Axis on Ali Jan Road being executed by R&B Department at a cost of Rs 52 lakh.

The DC was apprised that over 60 percent work has been completed and remaining work shall complete in set timeline.

On the occasion, the DC asked the concerned Officers to undertake the work for construction of a footpath on the other side of the Road Axis for the convenience of the pedestrians as the road has heavy traffic rush.

The DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Superintendent Engineer R&B, Abdul QayoomKirman, TehsildarEidgah, Ishfaq Ahmad Khan, Executive Engineer R&B, Abdul Manan, Project Manager, NBCC, Suhail Ahmad and other concerned Officers.
