Dr Jitendra holds Distt Dev Coordination, Monitoring Committee meet at Reasi

Reasi :  Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday chaired meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Reasi district here on Saturday.

DDC Chairperson, Saraf Singh Nag, DDC Vice Chairperson, SajraQadir, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, BabilaRakwal, BDCs, DDCs and all district Officers of various departments besides nominated members of DISHA participated in the meeting.

DDC gave sector wise detailed PowerPoint Presentation on various ongoing developmental works  being executed by different departments  like PHE, PWD, PDD, Health, PMGSY, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Rural Development Department,  District Industries and Commerce, ICDS, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry and others under several Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the district.

Union Minister stressed that Power, Health, Education, Agriculture and PHE are the main priority sectors of the government and asked the officers to work hard to reach out to the people. He emphasized special focus on sectors like Agriculture, Horticulture so that it could generate more employment in the district.

Union Minister said that the Government of India has initiated several programmes and schemes envisaging alround development of the district particularly far-flung areas. He stressed upon the officers to work with sincerity and dedication.

Later, DDC informed about the action taken on the directions issued in last DISHA meeting through a Powerpoint Presentation.

During the meeting, all PRI members lauded the efforts of the district administration for expediting the pace of all development works thus ensuring timely compleyion of various vital projects.

They  also put forth issues and demands before the Chairman DISHA  like inclusion of left out beneficiaries under PMAY, Providing road connectivity under NABARD,  naming of highest railway bridge at Kouri, shortage of staff in government schools, release of pending payment of  PMAY(G) -II installment, KV Reasi, installation of solar lights, construction of Katra Bus stand, non functioning of CCTV cameras at Katra , decongestion of Bus stand Reasi, shifting of Veterinary Hospital, filling of EO post, ban on mining and related matters.

During the meeting, it was informed that Katrakas been brought under  Rs 51.60 croreParshad scheme comprising various components like  multipurpose tourist facilitation centre, development and up gradation of Nehru park, development of fountain chowk, statue of Sridhar Bhagat, Amphi theatre, renovation of road from Asia to foundation Chowk, repair of road from foundation chowk to Banganga, tourist guest house and water point and signages.

Union Minister assured that the issues and demands raised by all the PRI members will be taken up on priority basis.
