DDC Ang interacts with civil society, traders body, media fraternity

Ang: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Anantnag Tuesday chaired a maiden meeting of members of civil society, traders association, media, Auqaf Committee members and representatives of different walks of life here at Dak Bungalow Anantnag.

Speaking during the meeting, the DDC said addressing the problems of people would be his top priority and for this he sought the cooperation of people from all walks of life.

He apprised the meeting about different projects under execution in the district, in general, and Anantnag town, particularly AMRUT, centrally sponsored schemes like IPDP, DDUGJY, CRF road projects, GMC Anantnag, SDH Model Hospitals, and Community Centre. The DDC said under AMRUT development of urbane facilities would be prioritised.

The district administration would try its best in ensuring the equitable development of all the four sub-divisions of the district, he added.

Meanwhile, the members of civil society requested the DDC to personally monitor the execution of different ongoing projects and to take measures to instil the work culture in government offices.

The DDC sought memorandum from representatives of different walks of life so that the same may be incorporated in the vision document.

Later, civil society, traders association members and media persons raised different issues including shifting of Labour Office to the district headquarter,  land identification for Commercial Taxes Office, allotments in the SRTC Complex, macadamization of Anantnag town, plugging of leakages in the PHE water supply schemes, repair work of street lights, sugar distribution, construction of public urinals/lavatories, beautification of Anantnag town, traffic jamming, land identification of different PMGSY roads, etc. They sought the kind intervention of the DDC to mitigate the issues.

The DDC assured that all their demands shall be prioritised. He said certain issues are under the active consideration of the district administration. He said the rest of the issues shall also be sorted out in due course of time.
