Ganderbal : To promote and inculcate entrepreneurial culture and environmentalism among the students, the Department of Management Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in collaboration with The Village Academy and Mool, launched two clubs Rachraav-eco-club and Tabsur-Biz Talk at the Saag eco village here on Friday.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office of the University the Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar while speaking on the occassion said that the main objective of organizing the event at an ecological entrepreneurial venture is to give practical experience and knowledge to the students about entrepreneurship and environment protection. “In addition to the existing traditional classroom teaching-learning method and complying with the regulations of NEP-2020, the university is imparting practical teaching to the students in the field, enabling them to face the challenges and turn their dreams into the reality” he said. Prof. Zargar asked the students to think out of the box and reinvent and recreate new things in their respective professional fields. He further asked the students to work for preservation of dying Kashmir culture and art and try to revive it, by using modern techniques and technology.
Addressing the gathering, Senior Asst Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, said the future entrepreneurs should be fully conscious about the preservation of ecology and environs while starting any venture, as has been done by the owners of the Saag Eco village. “The department, by organizing events like these, is making every effort to sensitize and aware the students, especially the management graduates, about the challenges and difficulties, which an entrepreneur faces and how he tackles the same,” he said.
Founder Saag eco village and Mool sustainability research and training center, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, asked the future entrepreneurs to turn every challenge and problem into an opportunity. “While starting any venture, you will face immense problems and difficulties on every front, but the successful entrepreneur is one who bravely face these and turns his project into success,” Fayaz Dar said. He said the Saag eco village is a novel concept wherein people from across the Valley come over to de-stress and enjoy the nature, adding the hutments and other infrastructure has been constructed by using traditional hatches, wood, mud and mats, showcasing the true essence of Kashmiri culture and heritage.
Coordinator, Rachraav-eco-club and Tabsur-Biz Talk, Dr. Mir InshaFarooq, while moderating the event said, the focus of the clubs would be to discuss and deliberate about the success stories of the entrepreneurs and the hardships they faced while venturing into a particular business. “These clubs will hold regular activities to inform the scholars and students about different entrepreneurship ventures and the ways and means to take them in order to achieve success in the same,” she said. SrAsst Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq was also present on the occasion.
