Jammu : District Development Council, Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi on Thursday asked the officials of different Departments to work in tandem to achieve optimum results in the implementation of developmental and welfare schemes.
He was chairing a meeting of the District Development Council here at PWD Guest House to review the achievements of line departments under different flagship schemes.
Vice Chairman, members of District Development Council, Deputy Commissioner and other senior functionaries of the government departments attended the meeting.
At the outset, DC Jammu AvnyLavasa apprised the DDC Chairman about the status of ongoing development works in the District and the scheduled dates of their completion.
After the presentation by the DC, the DDC Members present in the meeting gave an overview of the development works underway in the district. They called for further pacing up the development activities without any delay or shortcomings.
They also hinted about the dearth of staff affecting the output in some of the projects. It was resolved in the meeting that congenial atmosphere shall be ensured among the departments and officials for better results.
The DDC Chairman issued a slew of directions to the departments to achieve time bound completion of the ongoing projects without compromising on quality and other vital parameters. He laid emphasis on preparing the DPRs of development works of the ensuing year well before December 2022 to facilitate the start of new projects as soon as the new fiscal commences.
Stressing on giving a fair deal to the youth of J&K, the DDC Chairman advised the concerned quarters to float the tenders well in time and give widespread publicity by their publication in prominent local daily newspapers. He said that all the stakeholders should play their vital role in curbing the unethical practices especially the corruption because this can hamper the cause of development and the welfare of people in J&K.
The DDC Chairman categorically pointed out that people in J&K have high expectations from the public representatives and the same cannot be fulfilled without the cooperation and dedication of officials of different departments. “It is necessary that all the departments render yeoman’s service to satiate the aspirations of the people and timely provide to the public what they deserve as the citizens of the country”, he added.
