Jammu : Jammu Municipal Corporation has signed an agreement with Centre for Environment Education (CEE) for setting up a plastic recycling facility in Bandurakh, where 5 Mt plastic waste will be converted into useful products after recycling.
For understanding the characterization of MSW and finding the GAP in Waste Management, the CEE organized a workshop on Waste Management with association with Quality Council of India here in the conference hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Participants were Sanitation Officer, Assistant Sanitation Officer and Sanitary officers of all three zones.
Workshop was inaugurated by Mayor, Chandra Mohan Gupta. He assured the QCI & CEE team of full cooperation from the JMC.
Deputy Mayor, Advocate Poornima Sharma; Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee, Hardeep Singh; Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee, Raj Kumar Tarkhan; Commissioner, JMC, Rahul Yadav; Joint Commissioner H&S, KulbhushanKhajuria and Health Officer,Vinod Sharma were also present on the occasion.
