Srinagar : The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also the District Election Officer, Srinagar on Thursday visited various polling stations of District Srinagar in order to ensure that draft publication of electoral rolls is made in all the 902 polling stations of the District.
Besides, District Election Officer, Dy. District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers and other official of district election machinery were part of the visiting team.
During the visit the District Election Officer instructed the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) that they must register all eligible electors who attain the age of 18 by or before 01-10-2022, which is the qualifying date for registration of fresh electors. He emphasized that during this Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2022 of electoral rolls, which has started Thursday on 15th of September and will continue till 25th of October 2022 all eligible voters be registered in the electoral rolls.
The BLOS were further advised that must encourage the young eligible voters to submit Form 6 (Form for inclusion) online or Offline for their registration in the electoral rolls. He further informed them that young eligible citizens be educated to use Mobile based App “VoterHelpline” or access, www.nvsp.in for submitting their claims (in Form 6) for their fresh registration.
District Election Officer, Srinagar urged that all BLOs must conduct House to House survey in their respective areas in order to identify the newly eligible electors for registration. Further, directed BLOs to collect the Adhaar details of already registered electors who volunteer to share the same on Form 6B for linking it with the electoral records in order to increase the fidelity and transparency in the electoral process.
Moreover, the BLOS were also informed that for ensuring correction of particulars of already registered electors or for shifting from one place to another place they must collect Form 8 from electorates. Similarly, for deletion of name from the electoral rolls in case of shifted or dead electors Form 7 be considered online as well as offline.
The DEO also advised BLOs to form WhatsApp groups of their respective polling areas in order to interact with the families during SSR-2022 regarding the electoral registration process. Further, BLOs were encouraged that district election authority is always there to help every single citizen to get benefitted from ongoing SSR-2022 by securing elector’s photo identity card & right to vote.
