HSM- J holds storytelling, poetry recitation on Hindi Diwas

Jammu: In connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM), Jammu organized a literary meet of story telling and poetry recitation at the Sidhra, Jammu to commemorate Hindi Diwas. Jang S. Verman, a well known senior artist, writer and columnist on art & culture presided over the programme. Dr. Chanchal Dogra, President, HSM- J shared the dais. The programme was attended by a number of intellectuals and literary personalities.

According to a statement issued by Hindi Sahitya Mandal the programme started with the welcome address by Rakesh Abrol, General Secretary, HSM, who informed that it was the 6th literary event in the series being organized in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The short story telling and poetry recitation sessions of Hindi language were conducted during the programme, which were followed by the interaction on the creative writings presented in the programme. Inderjit Singh Pujari, Minto Dutta Sharma, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Brij Mohan, Rakesh Abrol, M S Kaamra and Dr. Chanchal Dogra presented their short stories and poems reflecting on the value, problems and the concerns of the commoners in the social set up and the emotive expressions of the writers. Prof. Kiran Bakshi, Literary Secretary, HSM and other participants expressed their views on the creations presented in the programme.

In his presidential address, Jang S. Verman said that it has been an appropriate occasion to hold Hindi Short Story and Poetry reading sessions on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. He said that this shows the interest of the people towards Hindi language. He also expressed his views on the creations in the programme. He appreciated that all the senior and young writers and poets have presented quality creative writings in Hindi language, and hoped that more such events would be organized during the coming days.  The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sh. Rakesh Abrol, General Secretary HSM- J. Sh. M S Kaamra, Member HSM- J extended the vote of thanks.
