Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri listens to people’s issues at Treru Moughla Block

Rajouri :  As part of weekly Block Diwas, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundalon Wednesday presided over a public grievance redressal camp here at Treru area of Moughla block.

During the event, the public and their representatives apprised the DDC about several issues and demands of their areas. They demanded macadamisation of roads, augmentation of health facilities, up-gradation of schools, meeting paucity of staff in government institutions etc.

Specific issues projected during the event included up-gradation of HS Tran, forest clearance, other hindrances in developmental works, control treatment of lumpy Skin disease among dairy animals, meeting shortage of staff at Health Sub-Centre Treru, making PHC Moughla functional  and resolving the problem of  scarcity of water etc.

Other issues included extension of Amaligala road, regular funding for the execution of developmental works with special emphasis on use of quality material, renovation of internal roads,  ambulance facility for Treru, building for PS Kulwana etc.

Public also demanded construction of link road from Government High School Treru to main road, construction of Paltha bridge, bringing the area on tourism map, construction of Community Hall for Treru, enhancement of salary of Lamberdar and chowkidars, expediting  completion of NTPC Treru, repair of Metka to Kanthol road,  PMGSY roads for unconnected areas, Degree college for Mougla etc.

The Officers of different departments imparted awareness to the people about self-employment; Agri- entrepreneur and allied sector schemes launched by the government to boost rural economy. The Departments motivated the public to avail the benefits of the Scheme and also responded to the queries raised by the public.

The SE PDD threw light on the Amnesty scheme launched by the Government for domestic consumers. “The  Amnesty scheme has provided this last opportunity to the consumers in view of not being able to avail the benefits of the last scheme due to spread of Covid-19 pandemic during the scheme period. The scheme envisages payment of outstanding principal amount of arrears in 12 installments accumulated upto 31.03.2022 after waving off 100% interest/surcharge” he added.

Responding to the issue of paucity of staff in health institutions, the CMO assured that the sanctioned staff strength would be provided in the Health institutions. He also assured of all facilities at PHC Moughla.

EXN PWD Nowshera, while responding to the issues raised during the event, said that DPR for TreruPaltha Bridge would be prepared soon. He also informed that the projects under execution will be completed at the earliest. Regarding repair of MetkaKanthol road, he informed that men and machinery are on the job to make all the roads traffic worthy.

Regarding DagalTreru road, it was informed that allotment is under process and work on the project would start soon.

Likewise, other officers also informed the people about the projects and schemes being implemented by their departments in the district.

Earlier, the DDC gave a patient hearing to  the issues and demands projected on the occasion and assured them of quality and timely redressal of all the genuine concerns.

“The District Administration is striving hard to take the district to new heights of development by utilizing its potential in different sectors, while all possible measures are being taken to provide best services at the doorsteps of the general public” he added.

For the better implementation of Govt schemes and execution of developmental projects on the ground, the DDC asked for maintain close interdepartmental coordination.

Regarding the issue of NTPHC building Treru, he asked the concerned officer from the Health Department to ensure that work on the building is completed within the shortest possible time.

On being informed that subcentreTreru is not functioning, the DDC asked the concerned officer to make the sub centre functional at the earliest.

The DDC said, “Although Treru is a far flung area of the district, it is much closer to our developmental goals”.

Responding to the issue of Paucity of staff in health institutions, the DDC assured that one Doctor will be posted at PHC Mougla, and one doctor on rotational basis to start OPD in Sub Centre Treru. He also assured that a Jan Ashuddi would be opened at Teryath. He also said that Mougla to Khawas road has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 17.82 crore and work on the project would start soon.

Responding to the issue of scarcity of water, he assured that all the households of the block would be provided functional tapped water connections under the ambitious JalJeevan Mission. Highlighting the amnesty scheme of the PDD sector, he said that it is a customer friendly scheme and urged the public to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Regarding construction of a road connecting High School Treru, he assured that the road would be constructed soon. Regarding Metka to Kanthol road, he said that tender for BT and shingling have been already floated.

He also enumerated the measures being taken by the District Administration to mitigate Lumpy Skin Disease. “The Animal Husbandry Department is working round the clock to contain the disease” he added and directed the department to organise special vaccination camps at Treru, Khawas, Mougla etc.

Highlighting the benefits of SEHAT scheme, the DDC urged the public to get themselves enrolled under the scheme to avail necessary health benefits under the scheme.

Underlining public role in making Swatchtapakwadasucessful in the district, he urged the public to work hand in hand with the district administration to make the program a grand success in the district.

He also issued on the spot directions to the concerned officers to take cognizance of the issues pertaining to their departments.

During the event, the participants were also educated about the ill effects of drugs on health and an appeal was also made to the parents to keep a close watch on their children and immediately take cognizance if they notice anything suspicious or if there is a change in behavior of their children.

A pledge to make the district free of drugs was also administered to the participants during the event.
