DC Kishtwar discusses Skill DevPlan 2022-23 at DSC meeting  

DM urges members to tie-up with JKTPO   for Tourism trade, Saffron marketing

Kishtwar :  Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, who is also Chairman of the District Skill Committee (DSC), on Saturday chaired the meeting of the Committee to discuss the Skill Development Plan 2022-23.

At the outset, the Chairman was briefed about the District Skill Development Plan and the Skill Development Courses being offered by institutions for the youth in the district.

Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow (MGNF) for District Kishtwar presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation on working and role of District Skill Committee for Skill up-gradation and handholding of skilled youth in the district Kishtwar under Skill Development Plan.

It was decided in the meeting that MGF shall work out the number of unemployed skilled manpower in the district by taking help of line departments and work out a plan for their handholding and skill up-gradation.

The DC further directed to utilise the services of Mentors of Youth Clubs, NRLM members and Technical institutes, in coordination with the PRIs,  to mobilise the youth for job oriented short term courses.

Meanwhile, the DC gave valuable inputs regarding the effective and foolproof formulation of the District Skill Development Plan.

He also asked all the departments/Stakeholders involved in providing Skill training in the district besides asked  to furnish the list of those trained during last year and their present job status so that the relevance of the courses provided can be understood for future planning.

Further, he exhorted the members to tie-up with JK-Trade Promotion Organization with regard to Tourism and Saffron marketing and to  conduct workshops in coordination with JKTPO.

Members were asked to explore possibilities for online marketing and branding of local products, besides to depute the interested persons to get awareness and training about Buyer-seller linkage.

The meeting was attended by ALC/DIO/AD DE&CC Kishtwar, CEO Kishtwar, Principal ITI, BPM NRLM, IC JKEDI, MNF Skill Development and other members of District Skill Committee.
