DC B’la holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Bomai; listens public demands, grievances

Baramulla : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed SehrishAsgaron Wednesday visited BomaiSopore and presided over a Public Grievance Redressal camp during weekly Block Diwas, here.

Member, District Development Council Tujjar, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, BDC Chairperson, Sarpanchs and other PRIs besides people of Bomai, Tujjer, Lagripora and other adjoining areas were part of the Public Grievance Redressal Camp.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, ParveezSajad; Joint Director Planning, M Yosuf Rather; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, PeerzadaMumtaz Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Gulzar Ahmad Khan; Chief Animal Husbandry officer, District Information Officer, Jahangir Akhoon; TehsildarBomai, Block Development Officer and other District Officers were also present at the event.

On the occasion, scores of public delegations, individuals projected various issues and demands before the DC including completion of Receiving Station, installation of X-Ray Machine in PHC Bomai, upgradation and macadamization of link road, strengthening of Health Centre and augmentation of Water supply in the area.

The DC after giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present in the Grievance Redressal Camp.

She assured the people that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.

The DC also gave on the spot direction to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.

She assured the people that the demand for the Power Receiving Station will be commissioned within a week. She further said that the demand for X-ray machines for PHC, Bomai will be fulfilled in the coming days to facilitate the local patients.

The DC also made the people aware about the various Government schemes and directed the officers of different departments to organize awareness camps in their respective areas to educate the general public about various government schemes so that they can avail maximum benefits.

She also said the administration is keen to provide better infrastructure in rural areas.

Moreover, the DC informed the public regarding the ensuing war against Drug abuse initiative and urged the locals to actively participate in the campaign to make Baramulla a drug free district.

Meanwhile, the DC also paid a visit to Degree College Bomai where she inspected Atal Tinkering Lab and interacted with the students. During the interaction, various inventions including Small Spectle, Rain drop Censor were showcased by the students meant to be used on special occasions.

The DC complimented the students for their extraordinary skills and advised them to carry on with this field with extra passion.

Earlier, the DC in presence of Member, DDC Tujjar laid stone foundation for the upgradation and beautification of Badshah Pond at Bomai being built at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.32 lakhs under AmritSarovar Scheme.
