Weeklong “Shikshak Parv” begins at GCW Udhampur

Udhampur : To acknowledge the dignity of the teaching profession and contribution of teachers towards nurturing young minds and nation building, Read & Lead Club and  Department of Music  Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur have organised a weeklong “ShikshakParv”  here on College campus here on Wednesday.

Principal of the college Dr. Monika Sharma was the chief guest at the inaugural function.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Monika threw light on the importance of teachers in holistic development of the students and nation building in the contemporary scenario. She appreciated the students for their performances.

She also congratulated the teachers nurturing the students and lauded the efforts of the club and Department in organizing the event of great importance in the institution.

The programmeorganised by the team of Read and Lead Club and Department of Music  under the convernorship of Dr. Mool Raj, Dr. Meena Gupta and Mr. Yash Kumar Assistant Professor in Music.

The faculty members of the college created an aura of gratitude to the teachers by their enlightening speeches. They highlighted the role of Dr. SarvapalliRadhakrishanan, the great educationist and former president of India, in shaping the society and building the overall personality of the students.

During the programme,  Students participated enthusiastically in various event and expressed gratitude to their teachers.

Students of the Department of Music also presented    a scintillating cultural programme which was highly applauded by the audience.

Manasi Sharma, students of Sem 1st conducted the proceedings of the programme while   Assistant Professor Shama Rani  presented the vote of thanks.

Among others, HoD Music Dr. SeemaSharam, HoD, Zoology Dr. SanjeetKour,HoD Prof. Ashni,  HoD Mathematics Dr . Ashok Kumar, HoD Urdu Dr. Mool Raj, HoD English Tania Akhter,  Dr. Kewal Kumar, Prof SumitaRao, Prof. Jugal Kishore, Dr. Meena Gupta, Prof Yash Paul, Prof ShalluJasrotia,  Prof. Yash Kumar along with other faculty members, non teaching staff and a large number of students graced the occasion with their benign presence.
