Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan: Reasi police launch crackdown on drug traffickers; Recover Heroin, illicit liquor

SSP appeals people to use Helpline Number 7889876725 to share information about criminals

Reasi :  As part of the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyaan, District Police Reasi on Wednesday, under the supervision of SSP, Amit Gupta, has launched a major crackdown on the drug traffickers and other elements involved in anti-social activities.

During separate raids,  the teams of District Police nabbed four Narcotic smugglers from Reasi, Katra and Ransoo area and recovered banned drug Heroin and illicit liquor from their possession.

A Team of Police Post Talwara led by PSI Sunil Singh  laid a surprise naka near Talwara area, intercepted and nabbed a bootlegger with 18 bottles of Desi whisky 180 ml each.

The police filed a FIR No. 224/2022 U/S 48 (f), Excise Act at P/S Reasi against the accused Chatter Singh of Talwara and an investigation was started.

In Ransoo area, a team of Police Station Ransoo  led by Inspector Kamalpreet Singh laid a surprise naka near Ransoo area and nabbed Mohammad Shabir of HariChuma Tehsil Teryath District Rajouri  with 1.5 ltrs illicit (desi) liquor. The accused  has been booked under case FIR No. 17/2022 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act registered at Police Station Ransoo.

Meanwhile, a Team of Police Station Katra led by PSI Happy Hans laid a surprise naka near Katra Town and apprehended a man namely Vijay Kumar of  Nelay, Katra with 50  quarters of JK special whiskey containing 250/250 ml each while he was on his way from Panthal towards Katra.

In this regard a case FIR No. 243/2022 U/S 48(a) Excise Act/ 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Katra and investigation started.

In another incident Police team of Police Station Katra  led by PSI Rakshat Singh under the supervision of Insp. Nishant Gupta SHO P/S Katra laid a surprise naka near Balini area of Katra, during checking 2 gm heroin like substance was recovered from Munish Kumar @munna S/O Prem Kumar R/O Serbad, Katra.

A case FIR No. 244/2022 U/S  8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at P/S Katra and investigation started.

Amit Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, while sharing the details, said “Our main priority is to rehabilitate the addicts and to book the peddlers, so as to eradicate this menace from the society.

SSP further added that District Police Reasi launched Anti-Drug Helpline Number 7889876725 and appealed that people should come forward and share information even through Whatsapp also on this number regarding drug abuse and their identity shall be kept secret.
