Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid on Monday conducted an extensive tour of Yousmarg area of the district.
During the visit, the DC interacted with locals and different tourism stakeholders including Pony walas and exchanged suggestions regarding the tourism promotion at Yousmarg and in all surrounding areas.
He said that the District Administration is committed to promote Yousmarg as one of the best tourist destinations. He said that various initiatives are being taken up and special focus is being given to develop Yousmarg as an all weather destination for the tourists.
He said that aim is to promote tourist footfall and provide multiple resources of self-employment for locals in the tourism sector.
Later, the DC along with a team of concerned officers visited locals putting up in Dokas to take on spot assessment of their issues and demands.
The DC gave patient hearing to the demands presented by the tribal people and assured timely redressal to all genuine grievances.
Meanwhile, the DC also visited SDH Chadoora and took stock of health care facilities available for patients.
He visited various wards and facilities in the hospital and interacted with patients and attendants to enquire about the patient care at the hospital.
