Shopian : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Wednesday listened to public issues during the weekly Block Diwas programme held at Gagren, here.
Sarpanches, Panches, senior citizens and the public of Gagren and adjoining Panchayats attended the event and projected scores of demands and problems.
They demanded Public Park at Padpawan, Passenger Shed at Padpawan, road construction to Krachpathri, development of Play fields, construction of protection bund, shifting of electric poles and construction of drainage system, better availability of electricity and other issues of public importance.
Responding to the demands, the DDC assured the public that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner as per norms. The DDC directed the officers to work in coordination for equitable development of all Panchayats.
He also directed concerned officers to resolve all the genuine demands of the public on priority and submit the detailed report of pending issues so that the same are projected to higher authorities for consideration and appropriate action.
Among others, the programme was attended by ADDC Shopian, Manzoor Hussain; DSHO, CAHO, Block Development Officers of Shopian, Ramnagri besides officials of line departments and PRIs of Shopian.
