Jammu : Joint Director (JSK), Subah Mehta and Chief Education Officer Jammu, Suraj Singh Rathore on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection of government schools of District Jammu to take stock of the educational standard and work culture.
The team inspected Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi, Government High School Domana, Government Middle School Domana and Government Primary School Patoli Brahmana.
The Joint Director, while interacting with the staff and students, emphasized on adopting best teaching-learning techniques. She advised the students to put in added efforts to excel in their life and emerge as winners. She motivated the teachers to create a depository of study material to be utilized by the needy students. She asked them to conduct class tests on regular intervals to check the comprehensibility of the taught content and prepare progress reports to assess the improvement of the students.
She asked the teachers to ensure the use of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) in their teaching process. “The teachers must illustrate the content with the help of examples,” the Joint Director stressed and asked the HOIs to identify slow achievers and arrange remedial classes for them. She also instructed the school authorities to make optimum utilization of library and ICT labs.
Subah Mehta, while referring to National Education Policy-2022, stressed on developing basic fundamental skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing amongst students. She mentioned Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and said that the foundation should be strengthened with a quality education to be imparted by the quality of teachers.
“At a higher level, students must be aware of various vocational courses, self-employment schemes, Scholarship schemes so as to ensure their bright future” she added.
The Chief Education Officer Jammu apprised the Joint Director (JSK) regarding various centrally sponsored government Schemes implemented in J&K for the betterment of the educational institutions.
