Srinagar|Aug,23 : Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu on Tuesday laid foundation of Hazrat Shiekh Dawood(RA) Community centre at Shah Faislabad Batamaloo. The foundation for community hall was laid in presence of Commissioner SMC Mr Athar Amir Khan and Corporator Batamaloo ward 21,  Mr Shafat Gafar Mir .
According to a statement issued from the Public Relations Office of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation the Mayor was told at the event that two storied community hall that will be constructed will have four halls, six guest rooms with attached wash rooms and one office room with attached bath room. He was further informed that the community hall coming up at an approved cost of Rs 400.00 lacs with a total of 6700 sft  plinth area  will have all the facilities for organizing all types of social gatherings. There will be a proper waza room, kitchen store room and a common wash room besides a large separate space for cooking within the premises of Community hall said Mr Sajad Kawoosa Executive Engineer Left River Works.
Mayor who was flanked by  senior officers of Corporation and officials from Engineering wing on the occassion  said such facilitation centres  help people of the locality  to take benefits  and organize social gatherings, events at ease and in an open comfortable space. He further stressed that more spaces needs to be identified for setting up of these community facilitation centres especially in the areas where  people  are having space constraint so that People can avail and afford such facilities in organising various social events. Mayor while expressing his gratitude to the people of the area especially the elderly and women said the community hall will be completed in a time bound manner. He also congratulated the concerned Corporator  Shafat Gafar for working tirelessly and constantly in getting the project approved and with all dedication made it through to its final stage
Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan on the occassion said by having these community halls, the problems of people in organising social gatherings who do not have enough space will ease out to a greater extent. These community halls provide large space in organising various social events with parking facility availble further said Commissioner SMC. Athar also assured the people that the said community hall will be completed within a stipulated time with the efforts of engineering wing. Later public darbar was also held in presence of the concerned Corporator where people put forth thier greviances and other various issues regarding  developmental activities. Mayor assured them to take up the matter with the concerned and ensure prompt disposal of the grievances. Corporator Lal Bazaar Mr Danish Bhat also spoke on the occasion Besides all the senior officers of SMC  including Joint Commisioner Works, locals of the area both men and women and others   participated in the  in the event.
