  Photo Exhibition on Indian freedom heroes attracts visitors

Ramban :  Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, on Mondayorganised its 5th Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (2-day Photo-Exhibition) here in Government Model Higher Secondary School Batote.

The event was hosted under the aegis of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.

Earlier, CBC J&K organized four ICOPs at Leh, Bhaderwah, Naushera and Kathua.

The two-day programme was inaugurated by Vijay Kumar Sharma, Executive Magistrate, Batote.

The programme aimed to educate the students about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters during the freedom movement of India. Apart from this, the students were also informed about the Indian freedom fighters of North India, especially from Jammu and Kashmir.

In his address, Vijay Kumar Sharma appreciated CBC J&K’s initiative of organizing such an informative programme on the freedom struggle of India for the students. He impressed upon the students to take the best advantage of this photo exhibition and take inspiration from the freedom fighters of India, who sacrificed themselves for the nation. He said that students have an important role to play in achieving the goals under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Chief Planning Officer, Ramban, KasturiLal, who was also the chief guest on the occasion, said that the exhibition was very informative, especially for the student community, who can spread this information across the social spectrum.

Welcoming the guests, Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director, Central Bureau of Communication J&K, Ladakh region apprised the audience about the mandate of the Central Bureau of Communication and also informed them about the structure and functioning of CBC. He also presented a detailed overview of the objectives and vision behind AzadiKaAmritMahotsav campaign.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal GMHSS Batote, Dev Raj, stressed upon the need for organizing more such awareness programmes for the students and thanked CBC for choosing this school as a host for this photo exhibition.

CDPO Ramban, Miss RavinderKour emphasized on the role of ICDS under AKAM, providing healthy meals to the lactating mothers, adolescent girls and pregnant mothers for the benefit of the nation.

Besides officials from RDD, Revenue Department, ASHA workers, ICDS workers, students and teachers, the program was also attended by Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Field Office Udhampur, KhursheedYousuf, Gurnaam Singh, I/C FOB Rajouri, Rajesh Sharma, I/C FOB Doda and EO Municipality Batote,  Sanjay.

CBC, J&K had installed informative standees of freedom fighters under AzadiKaAmritMahotsav for the awareness of the visitors.

Apart from this printed awareness material was also distributed among the students. Theme based cultural programmes were presented by the private registered troupe (PRT) of CBC, J&K and Ladakh.
