Srinagar: Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Thursday sanctioned over Rupees 3.74 crore of welfare loan and relief to 317 serving officers and personnel of J&K.
According to the statement issued on Thursday from Police Headquarters the Welfare loan of Rupees 54 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 43 personnel to meet the expenses of self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents. The amount sanctioned for the medical treatment ranges from rupees one lakh to rupees three lakhs. Besides, welfare relief of rupees 1.60 lakh in favour of nine Police personnel has also been sanctioned.
The Welfare loan and relief ranging from rupees one lakh to rupees 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 251 personnel for the purpose of their own marriage, or for marriage of their wards. Similarly, welfare loan of rupees 23 lakhs has been sanctioned to 16 Police personnel for pursuing higher education of their wards and rupees 50 thousands each has been sanctioned to seven Police personnel for circumcision of their wards.
The loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest; however welfare relief sanctioned is non-refundable. The welfare loan and relief has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund. It may be mentioned here that under different welfare schemes J&K Police department is providing financial assistance to all the ranks serving and retired of Jammu and Kashmir Police and to serving SPOs. Financial support to the families & wards of Martyr Police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs is also taken care of.
