DC Ramban presides over mega Block Diwas meeting at Banihal, Interacts with students at GGHSS Banihal

Ramban| Aug, 17: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam on Wededay presided over a mega Weekly Block Diwas meeting at Sub division Banihal and listened to the issues and grievances of public.
BDC Chairperson, Rashida Begum; DDC Councilor, Imtiyaz Khanday; DDC Councilor, Ramsoo, Fayaz Ahmed; ADC, Harbans Lal; SDM, Zaheer Abass; ACD, Ashok Katoch and several other senior officers, PRIs and prominent citizens participated in the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner congratulated the sub division administration Banihal, Educational intuitions, government and social organization besides general masses for prominently taking part in Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav during 76th Independence day celebration.
Responding to the public issues, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the demand of Sports Stadium has already been brought into the notice of the government. He said that several other projects pertaining to youth engagement programmes have been sanctioned and more are in pipeline.
The DC highlighted the steps taken by the District Administration to provide basic facilities and quality services under different sectors. “District administration has completed several developmental projects and work is on several other projects. A total 88 water supply schemes costing Rs 419 Cr have been proposed under JJM and work on the same will be started soon to provide tap water to every household of the district” he added. He further informed that the issue of pendency in PMAY and MGNREGA has already been projected to the government. He also assured that the demand about completion of college road would be taken up on priority basis.
The CMO was directed to check the utility of health centre Nowgam and submit a proposal for strengthening health facilities in the area. He also directed the SDM Banihal and XEN PWD to visit the DIET building at Banihal and submit a report for its early completion and commissioning.
Referring to services available online mode, the DC impressed upon the PRIs to sensitize the people about different beneficiary and job oriented schemes launched by the Government for welfare of youth, poor and deprived sections.
He impressed upon the District and Sectoral officers to resolve the issues of general public pertaining to their respective departments on priority basis.
Earlier, the locals projected their demands and sought Sports stadium for Banihal, release of pending PMAY installments, issue of Awas plus portal, release of liability under MGNREGA, engagement of local youth in construction companies, meeting shortage of staff in Health and Educational institutions and various other issues.
The Deputy Commissioner resolved most of the demands on the spot and assured the people that remaining issues would be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Banihal and interacted with the students. He motivated them to focus on preparation of competitive exams in different fields. He appreciated the school management for maintaining decorum in classes and other arrangements for girl students.
The DC encouraged the girl students to participate in every field for overall personality development and attain desired profession and position in their future.
Similar Weekly Block Diwas meetings are held in other all designated blocks of the district Ramban.
