Srinagar|Aug, 16 :  Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) and Senior trade union leader Aijaz Ahmad Khan on Tuesday said that non-disbursement of GP fund and gratuity of in service and retired employees is regrettable.
The spokesman of Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) said in a statement that an important meeting of leaders and officials of joint platform of employee associations was held in Srinagar under the Chairmanship of  EJCC Chairman Aijaz Ahmad Khan .The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ejaz, Ishtiaq Ahmed Baig, Javed Ahmad Akhun, Shoaib Munshi, Farooq Kawa, Rahmatullah Khan, Shaukat Ahmed Noushhari, Anayat Noushhari, Abdul Qayyum Baig and District President Srinagar Muhammad Yaqub Dar.
According to the spokesman, the problems and difficulties faced by the serving employees, retired employees and different types of temporary employees and their pending legitimate demands were discussed in the meeting . Addressing the meeting, the EJCC Chairman said that government employees act as an important bridge between the government, administration and the people, because the actions, programs and policies of the Government are implemented by the employees at the ground level. Khan said that it is sad that serving and retired employees have been struggling for months to get GP fund and gratuity money. The GP fund and gratuity of the employees is a right and almost every employee needs it pre and post his/her retirement and they spend this money on the welfare and well-being of the family as well as on their rehabilitation work.
Khan said that for the last several months, the service class employees are worried about their GP fund and retired employees gratuity as well as the final GP fund, because the legitimate accumulated earnings are not being released in their favor. Trade union leader Aijaz Ahmad Khan appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir government, especially Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta to personally intervene and release the GP fund and gratuity amount in favor of the serving employees and retired employees.
The EGCC spokesperson further said that in the meeting of the joint forum, it was decided that a peaceful protest will be held on August 18 at Press Colony in Srinagar to highlight the legitimate demands of government employees, including temporary employees, in which the leadership of the Employees Joint Consultative Committee EJCC will participate. .
