Srinagar : Police on Sunday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers including a lady in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Sunday Police said that a Police party of Police Station Budgam at a checkpoint established at Dafpora intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party, Stating therein further that the said suspect has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Khan S/O Mohd Amin Khan R/O Dafpora.
Stating that During checking 1232 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon Plus were recovered from the possession of the said drug peddler who has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 273/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation set into motion.
Police in it’s above quoted statement also said that during the investigation of case FIR No. 271/2022 of Police Station Budgam in which five drug peddlers were arrested and three vehicles were also seized on August 11 this year, stating therein further more that one more notorious drug peddler was on Sunday arrested in the said case who was evading his arrest.
Police in it’s statement also said that the said drug peddler has been identified as Parveez Ahmed Dar @Pare Punjabi son of Mohammad Anwar Dar resident of Dar Mohalla Nasrullapora.
“Earlier, Police Station Budgam received specific information that a couple living in a rented accommodation near Railway Station Budgam is actively involved in sale of contraband substance”, reads the above referred police statement, adding that “during search of the said place, Police party recovered 4 grams of Heroin like substance, 01 digital balance and some insulin syringes”. Police in it’s statement further said that the duo has been identified as Shah Faisal S/O Gulzar Ahmed Shah and (name withheld) wife of Shah Faisal, residents of Mohanpora Ompora and all of them been arrested and shifted to PS where they remain in custody. “A case vide FIR No. 274/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation set into motion” , reads the Police statement .
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people s found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. The police in it’s statement reiterated that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
