Shopian : The District Administration Shopianon Saturday held a massive rally in Main Town Shopian under ‘HarGharTiranga’ campaign being celebrated under the aegis of ‘AzadiKaAmritMahotsav’.
The rally that was led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vashiya and Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, Tanushree commenced from Jamia Masjid market and traversed around the Clock Tower area, at the centre of the Town.
All the District/Sectoral officers and hundreds of employees from various departments participated in the Tiranga Rally with tricolour in their hands along with social activists, civil society members, transporters and public.
People chanting slogans of HarGharTiranga and patriotic songs reverberated through the town during the rally.
‘HarGharTiranga’ campaign was launched to encourage Indians worldwide to hoist the National flag on their homes between 13 to 15 August. This campaign will serve as a reminder to citizens’ dedication to nation-building ahead of the 76th year of Independence. Its main goal is to inculcate a sense of patriotism in the hearts of citizens and raise awareness about the importance of the National Flag.
