Jammu : The department of Mining on Saturday organized a sensitization workshop on implementation of e-Operations for the officers and officials of the department at Conference Hall, Udhyog Bhawan here.

Speaking during the workshop, the Secretary said that the Vision and Mission of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Dr Arun K Mehta are being implemented in Mining Department wherein there is zero tolerance for corruption through the successful implementation of e-Governance models. He highlighted that nearly 200 Mining blocks were e-Auctioned recently and the Mining Department has resolved towards adherence to e-Practices which is the need of the hour.
The Secretary further said that all the DMOs have been given explicit directions to finish the work of installation of weigh bridges in all the districts by the end of this month so that the quantity of material in all vehicles involved in Mining Operations shall be auto-weighed and further royalty and other fees shall be auto-charged as per accurate weight of the material being mined from the respective blocks.
During the workshop, the Secretary cleared lot of doubts of various DMOs during the hands-on workshop about the online functioning of this unique G2B2C portal which is first-of-its-kind in the nation through which QR-coded fool proof e-Challans to all relevant vendors shall be issued through integration of payment gateways for online charging of royalty fees and other dues.
Further, this portal shall offer perfect online platform to buyers and sellers of Mining material like RBM, Sand, etc as per their suitability, pricing and location which shall be monitored online by the department.
During the workshop, a detailed presentation about this upcoming portal and its features was made by the developers mentioning each and every step planned by the department through it with the purpose to completely weed out pilferage, bias, corruption and human error and push our J&K in the ‘elite league’ of states of the nation who have shifted completely to automation in the Mining operations.
