Traffic diversions enforced day in and day out for the hassle free movement of government officials to any official in either Srinagar city or any district headquarter has now almost become a routine practice which causes huge inconvenience to people of all hues particularly government employees, traders and students. Traffic diversions may be a compulsion for the hassle free movement of officials to an official event within or outside Srinagar city but doing so without compromising the traffic conveniences of the common people is the prime responsibility of the traffic regulating authorities. After all common people too have compulsions to reach somewhere for attending a social or religious event. Taking care of the traffic conveniences of the officials for their attendance at an official event by compromising the conveniences of the common people who too have certain compulsions to reach one or other place in time shows professional incompetence of   the traffic regulators both in the twin capital cities- Srinagar and also in major towns particularly district headquarters. When traffic diversions enforced exclusively on passenger vehicles and private care cause huge physical inconvenience to common people, the traffic regulation authorities come in for sharp criticism from people of all hues. Unfortunately only people traveling in passenger buses and private cars become ultimate casualty of the traffic diversions whenever it comes to the hassle free movement of government officials to any official event in city centre or any other area of the summer capital.  Though it is imperative for the traffic regulators to allow passenger and private vehicles on one particular route and vehicles of the officials on some other route for the purposes of facilitating traffic conveniences to people of all hues but unfortunately traffic regulators shut all routes for passenger and private vehicles and keep them open only for government vehicles whenever there is any official event in city centre or any other area of Srinagar city or even at any district headquarter.  Due to traffic diversions the passengers are forced to travel longer distances to reach their destinations and people travelling in private care are asked to return to destinations from where they may have started their journey to reach their desired destinations. In the end casualties of provocative and irritating traffic diversions are disturbing the routine works of people of all hues particularly government employees, traders and students. Unfortunately such disturbing traffic diversions are also enforced even in major towns particularly district headquarters whenever there is any official event or a government sponsored program in  one or other town.

Traffic regulation is a duty which the traffic police department has to carry out without causing any physical or financial inconvenience to either the passengers or the passenger transport operators. Administrative wisdom demands that traffic diversions under the garb of traffic regulations don’t become the cause of physical or financial inconvenience to either the passengers or the passenger transport operators within or outside the Srinagar city.

So in one way or other while the passengers are being overtly and covertly denied right to avail traveling facilities at the convenient places in city centre areas and desired destinations in major towns including district headquarters. While the public transporters are denied the right to run their businesses from the suitable places , Several others are denied the right to attend their work places in time .
