B’gam : Police in Budgam on Thursday organised an awareness Programme on “Prevention of Drug Addiction” at Government Higher Secondary School Soibugh Budgam.
According to a police statement issued on Thursday the Incharge Drug De-addiction & Stress Management Centre DPL Budgam Insha Hassan, Principal HSS Soibugh Budgam Abdul Ganie Dar, 10 Staff members including teaching/non teaching staff of GHSS Soibugh were present. Besides, 150 students also participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Insha Hassan highlighted the role of school management in identification of substance abusers and its role in remedial measures thereof. She also laid emphasis on the psychological and social aspects of addiction. Detailed deliberations on various aspects of drug addiction and preventive measures especially in youth were also made. She also sensitized the students about the ill effects of drug abuse and advised them to be part of social awakening process regarding drug abuse. She also highlighted the importance of drug free society and ill effects of this menace on youth and society at large. She advised teachers and parents to keep a watch on the activities and behaviour of students and be conscious towards them. According to the above quoted police statement Principal of School Abdul Ganie Dar also spoke about the ill effects of drugs on overall development of an individual and society. He thanked Police for organising such awareness programmes. All participants pledged to never indulge in any kind of substance abuse.
SSP Budgam, SSP Sopore orders In-Situ promotions to 228 officials
Sopore : SSP Budgam and SSP Sopore have ordered In-situ promotion approved by the Departmental Promotion Committees in favour of 228 officials of Budgam and Sopore.
According to police statement issued on Thursday the promotees include 224 constables and 04 Followers who have completed nine years of satisfactory service in one rank and stagnant in a particular grade.
“ SSP Budgam and SSP Sopore have extended their warm greetings to the promoted officials and expressed hope that promotees will strive to work with greater zeal and professionalism for public welfare and the maintenance of peace and public order”, reads the concluding para of above quoted police statement.
