VC SKUAST-Jammu calls for raising Research Standards of University, appreciates research students of Entomology deptt

Jammu : Dr J. P.Sharma, Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu Wednesday conducted a surprise visit to review the academic Standard of Research being conducted in the division of Entomology. He interacted with research students during their thesis defence and reviewed the progress of their research projects on Diversity and altitudinal variation in Bumblebee species and selection of bees for hygienic behaviour , gentleness and honey production.
After fruitful discussion, he conveyed his happiness and appreciated the confidence level of the students, Ankita Guleria and Komal and congratulated them .He appreciated the efforts of Dr R. K. Gupta, the Head of the division along with other faculty members Dr Bandral, Dr. Kamlesh, Dr Magdeshwar, Dr Uma. Dr Amit and Dr. Devinder for assigning the research problems on emerging issues on bumblebee pollinators and bee breeding aspects and mentoring the students to do quality research.
He further suggested that research should be done in a way that gives new benefits and amenities to society and the advisors are supposed to guide and orient students towards good quality research standards. He further stressed that Scholars should give priority to the intellectual works of famous researchers and make full use of the University Library. He assured the research scholars to contact him directly in case of difficulty in terms of equipment or infrastructure. Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr A.K.Mandal also accompanied him during this occasion.
