B’gam : Police on Monday said that it has arrested three person on charges of illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in central Kashmir’s Budgm district and also seized 3 vehicles involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that officers from Police Post Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Wadwan Crossing Budgam intercepted three tippers loaded with illegally extracted soil, stating therein further that the vehicles bearing registration numbers JK01T-5151, JK01P-1657 and JK02-3061 were seized and their drivers identified as Shabeer Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Russu, Irfan Akram Mir son of Mohammad Akram Mir resident of Bundgam and Mohammad Yaseen Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Russu were arrested.
Stating that the above named accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 243/2022 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
