Kupwara : To discuss the rationalization of polling stations, booths in Kupwara district, the District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Thursday convened a meeting with representatives of various political parties, here.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held over the proposed draft of polling stations to record comments of political parties for rectification.
The meeting was informed that the polling stations are being created keeping in view the convenience of the voters and must include all essential facilities and any new proposal by political parties that falls within the norms will be considered and approved.
The DDC stressed the need for balancing of population and distance for rationalization of polling stations.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan; ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Dy DEO, ACR, Electoral Registration Officers and representatives of various political parties.
