DC reviews arrangements for I-Day in Rajouri

DM asks officers to put in added efforts for smooth celebration of national event

Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Thursday reviewed the arrangements to be put in place for the smooth celebration of Independence Day-2022 here at a meeting of the concerned officers.
ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; ACR, Imran Kataria; ACD, Vijay Kumar Verma; SE Hydraulics, J.P Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; AC Defence, Saleem Quershi; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat, DSHO, Dr Sarfraz Naseem Choudhary and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
A thorough discussion regarding the seating arrangements, presentation of cultural programmes, parade, security arrangement and award presentation was held in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the day would begin with playing of Shehnai Vadan by the Information Department followed by flag hoisting by the Chief Guest at DPL ground Rajouri and march past by District Police, NCC, CRPF, BSF, Home guard, JKFPF and ITBP and students of various schools of the District.
The full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13th. Similar programmes would be held at sub-division, tehsil, block and Panchayat level.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to ensure adequate security arrangements, sanitation, illumination of government buildings, parking facilities, traffic management and proper seating arrangements at the main venue besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.
Stressing on ensuring strict adherence to COVID protocols while carrying out different activities related to the national event, he asked for ensuring that all the COVID related protocols are strictly adhered to by all the participants during rehearsals and on the scheduled day to avoid the risk of infection.
DC directed the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in advance and coordinate with each other for the smooth conduct of Independence Day function.
