Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said to have arrested four drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday police said that a Police Party from Police Post Janglat Mandi at a checkpoint established at Bilal Colony Janlatmandi intercepted 3 drug peddlers identified as Waseem Ahmad Alie son of Gh Rasool Alie resident of Chaindain Panjan Kulgam, Abid Hussain Peer son of Sheeraj-u-Din Peer resident of Soaf Shali Kokernag and Hussain Ahmad Ganie son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie resident of Khalhaar Kokernaga and during searchs recovered 10 grams of heroin from their possession.
Stating thar a Police Party from Police Station Srigufwara during naka checking at Achdar Khiram intercepted a person identified as Dilawar Ahmad Khan son of Khan Zaman resident of Achdar Khiram, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that during searches 5Kgs of Bung Bosa and 400gms of Charas powder concealed in a Nylon bag was recovered from the possession of the accused who were arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody. Police in it’s statement also said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective Police Stations and investigation has been initiated.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement appealed people to share information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood and warned that the people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
