DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal camp at Brein Nishat

DM also inspects village level soil testing laboratory, health centre, Boys High School

Srinagar:In order to listen to and ensure Redressal of the Public grievances, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of Nishat area of Srinagar District and presided over a Public Grievance Redressal Camp as part of Public Outreach Programme under weekly Block Diwas.
The Programme was held in the premises of Alamdar Park, Brien Nishat which witnessed a large participation of people from Nishat, Gupt Ganga, Brein, Karpora, Astanpora, and other adjoining areas of the Tehsil Khanyar of Srinagar District.
Besides, local representatives of Urban Local Bodies, the Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical officer, ACR, SDM East, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, I&FC, R&B, District Agriculture Officer, Tehsildar Khanyar, Zonal Medical officer, Hazratbal and other Zonal and Sectoral Officers of the District.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before the Deputy Commissioner including, infrastructure upgradation of Health centre, Brien, upgradation of Boys Middle School Brien, replacement of electric wire & poles, augmentation of drainage system in the area, repairs of lanes & drains, macadamization of roads, issues related to granting permission for repairs etc in Green Belt areas under LCMA through single window system, establishment of Petrol pump, transportation facility and other developmental issues in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the grievances and demands of the public and sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment for time bound redressal.
On the occasion, the DC urged the local youth to come forward and avail the benefits of different welfare schemes of the Government launched for handholding of the youth so that they earn livelihood with dignity and honour.
The DC also directed for holding a mega joint awareness camp by all line Departments to sensitize people about the various employment generation schemes launched by the Government for handholding of the unemployed local youth.
With regard to granting permission through a single window system for repairs/renovation in green belt areas, the DC assured them that all possible measures are being taken at higher level to provide respite to the people.
The DC assured the people of Brien Nishat and other adjoining areas that all other genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority for their speedy redressal.
During the programme, District Agriculture Officer, Mohammad Younis Chowdhary and District Career Counselling Officer highlighted the benefits of various Government schemes launched for unemployed youth of the District.
On the occasion, people of the area thanked the Deputy Commissioner for conducting a public outreach programme at Nishat area for the first time ever and bringing Administration at the doorsteps of the people for early redressal of their grievances and issues.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Village Level Soil Testing Laboratory established at a cost of Rs 2.50 lakh under centrally sponsored scheme, NMSA, promoted and adopted by Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department.
The DC also visited the Health and Wellness Centre, Brien and Boys Middle School Brien and inspected their functioning.
