Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), on Tuesday chaired a meeting with representatives of various political parties to discuss rationalisation of polling stations and Har Ghar Jhanda programme in the district.
As per a statement, the meeting was convened to discuss rationalization of polling stations with representatives of political parties and take necessary suggestions from them.
The meeting discussed threadbare rationalization of polling stations besides other necessary issues related to elections.
It was informed that Bandipora district has 03 Assembly constituencies of 300 Polling Stations with Assured Minimum Facility.
Dr. Owais directed the concerned Officers from Election Department to work in better coordination and mobilise field functionaries to finalize the process of creation, renaming, relocation of polling stations with regard to the number of voters.
DC also sought active involvement and cooperation of the political parties in the Har Ghar Jhanda programme to make it impactful.
Among others, the meeting was attended by concerned officers and the representatives of various political parties.
