Laxity shown by people in the congested areas of the twin capital cities- Srinagar and Jammu and majority of the towns in both Kashmir Valley and Jammu division is apparently the cause of major surge in covid cases witnessed for about last two months. Further laxity would consequently lead to further surge in covid cases which would immediately hit functioning of offline classes besides taking away the jobs of the people and reducing the business operations once again as has been experienced in high intensity pandemic periods in last three years of pandemic. What matters the most is strict adherence to covid protocols by both the teachers and as well as the students in their school premises for the purposes of drastically reducing the chances of pandemic spread in any school in either Kashmir valley or Jammu division. While irrefutable fact is that in-person learning, and extensive hours of outdoor play on children facilitate their all-round development in schools, the dip in business operations and loss of jobs due to further surge in covid cases can lead to shutting down of offline classes once again in Jammu & Kashmir.
