RAMBAN: Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across the district on Sunday.
The biggest congregation took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban and Eidgah, Banihal, Gool and Batote, where hundreds of devotees performed Namaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, development and prosperity of J&K as well as the country.
Elaborate arrangements including security and others were made by the district administration and the police for the festival.
Eid Namaz was offered at other mosques of the town and its outskirts including, mosques of Chandrog, Maitra and Upper Ramban. The festival was also celebrated in Banihal, Sangaldan, Ramsoo, Ukhral, Batote, Gool and Rajgrah.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma and Dy SP, Pardeep Singh greeted the people of Ramban and prayed that the occasion promote unity and communal harmony everywhere.

KATHUA: The festival of Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated with religious fervour and festivity by offerings namaz at designated locations including the Jama Masjid in Ward number 8 of Kathua; Eidgah, Phinter in Billawar; Jama Masjid Basohli, Eidgah Ground Bani, Jamia Masjid and Eidgah Bhoond, Eidgah Ground Lowang, Eidgah Ludera, Jamia Masjid Dramani and Masjid in Gura Kalyal besides other parts of the district.
The district administration had made elaborate security and other necessary arrangements on the festival. Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandey also extended his greetings on the occasion and said that the festival is an occasion for devotion and charity.

NOWSHER: Sunderbani Forest Range of Nowshera Forest Division today conducted Plantation drives to celebrate Eid festival.
Block Forest Officer, Sunderbani Rangeel Singh distributed fruit, medicinal and ornamental plants among the participants at village Mawa and a plantation drive under Har Gaon Hariyali was also conducted in which locals of the area participated.
Range Officer Sunderbani, Rakesh Verma said that such plantation drives help in greening the planet earth. He urged the participants to plant at least one tree on every occasion. Secretary Forest Rights Committee, Mohd Shabir Patrara also participated in the plantation drive.
Another plantation drive was held at Ranji Bhera in which large number people participated. The drive was organized by Block Forest Officer Dharamsaal Ved Parkash.
Plants having medicinal value, flowering and fruit plants were distributed among the participants. Karam Din Chairman Forest Rights Committee, Marchola, Ghulam Rasool Member PRI Marchola, Mohd Shabir, Aftar Begum among others participated in the plantation drive. He also distributed one plant each to the parents of newly born girl child under the theme “ EK Ped Har beti ke Naam”.
The whole programme was conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera.
