Srinagar: A deadly cloudburst hit near the base camp of the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in the Himalayas of Baltalon Friday evening. Several political leaders in Kashmir valley have expressed anguish over the incident and prayed for the safety of the Amarnath pilgrims.
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has expressed his deep sense of grief over the tragedy that occurred due to a cloudburst near Amarnath Cave Friday causing the death of at least five pilgrims.
According to a statement issued here Syed Altaf Bukhari while expressing his grief over the incident has said, “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones in a tragic cloud burst at Amarnath cave. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace. I pray for the safety of all the pilgrims and those who are around, assisting them.”
He added, “In this hour of grief, we stand in solidarity with bereaved families, and pray for the safety of the rest of the pilgrims.”
Chairman People’s Democratic Front PDF Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed shock and sorrow over the loss of life and property in a sudden cloud burst near Amarnath Cave. He has prayed for early recovery of the injured Yatris and eternal peace to the souls of those Yatris who have got killed in this unfortunate natural calamity. He has expressed sympathy with the bereaved families. PDF Chairman has urged the government to intensify rescue operation to save lives of Yatris stranded enroute the holly Amarnath Cave.
CPI(M) Secretary M Y Tarigami while expressing solidarity with the bereaved families also said the he is shocked to learn about the deaths and injuries in the cloudburst. In a statement issued on Friday he asked the administration to gear up the rescue operation at the site and demanded ex-gratia relief for the victim families and free of cost treatment to those injured in the accident
