DDC Kupwara approves DAP under JJM

104 Schemes costing 587 crore to be taken up this year

Kupwara :The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, who is also Chairman District JalJeevan Mission (JJM), Friday approved District Action Plan (DAP) under JJM, during a meeting held, here.
During the meeting, DAP of 104 schemes was approved with a total cost of Rs. 587.33 crore. Out of these 104 schemes, 49 would be taken up in PHE division Handwara, 41 in PHE division Kupwara, 11 in Special Subdivision Tangdhar and 3 schemes are being taken up by Ground Water Division in the district.
The DDC took scheme wise review and received feedback from the concerned engineers. He asked them to make optimum use of available resources and ensure completion of works on Mission mode to chase the target of ‘HarGharNal Say Jal’ tap water to every household.
The DDC directed concerned engineers to build up negotiations with the tenderers within three days to complete the process of tendering and put up the progress in the next meeting.
Khalid Jahangir also reviewed the progress of ongoing schemes under NRDWP and was informed that as many as 14 schemes, costing Rs 41.4 crore are near completion. He directed the concerned engineers to accelerate the pace of progress and ensure its completion within the shortest possible time.
Regarding coverage of households, the meeting was informed that out of total 1.81 lakh households, 94,600 have already been connected, while the rest of the 86,400 households are targeted to be covered under JJM.
The DDC directed the Superintending Engineer to monitor the pace of work at departmental level also as the projects are monitored by the Union Ministry of JalJeevan Mission and Chief Secretary himself. He asked him to ensure inter- departmental coordination and consultation.
JD Planning, SE Hydraulic, Executive Engineers, DIO, ADP, Technical Officers and other concerned were present on the occasion.
