Kishtwar :Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma chaired a meeting of officers and members of MajlisShura to review the arrangements for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, here Wednesday.
The DC directed officers of Jal Shakti and JPDCL to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity across the district during the festival. He directed the Jal Shakti department to provide water tankers wherever necessary to ensure that there be no shortage of drinking water.
SSP Kishtwar informed the meeting that fool proof security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival have been put in place across the district.
The District Sheep Husbandry Officer was instructed to ensure that adequate numbers of sacrificial animals are available in the district. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer also informed the house that an adequate number of poultry birds and animals are available in the district.
Instructions were passed by the DC to constitute joint market checking teams to intensify market checking to check the quality of food items and other essentials in the market and ensure availability of quality products at approved rates.
The DC directed Assistant Director, Food &Civil Supplies Department to ensure that the process of ration distribution is completed before Eid. Municipal authorities were directed to ensure proper sanitation in towns, mosques and Eidgahs.
The Traffic police authorities were asked to chalk out a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure the smooth movement of traffic during the festival.
