5 drug peddlers held in Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Heroin recovered: Police

Jammu : Jammu Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested five drug peddlers in Jammu and also recovered 32 grams of Heroin at two different nakas in the jurisdictions of PS Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Jammu police said that a police team of PS Gandhi Nagar led by SHO PS Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma assisted by PSI Majid Shafi while on naka duty rounded up three suspects in a vehicle bearing Registration No JK21B-2666, stating therein further that the said vehicle when signaled to stop for routine checking, it tried to flee away but was overpowered due to swift police action and upon checking 18 grams of heroin was recovered from them.
Stating that the suspects were identified as Nikhil @ Abhi S/o Avtar Singh R/o GurahSlathia Samba, Arif Hussain S/o Sher Mohd. R/o BeliCharana Jammu, MohinderLal S/o TarsemLal R/o Miran Sahib Jammu, Police in it’s statement further said that a case FIR No. 162/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Gandhi Nagar and accused was also arrested.
Stating further that at another naka laid by police team of PS Gandhi Nagar led by SHO PS Gandhi Nagar Insp. Pankaj Sharma assisted by PSI SonuChoudhary police teams rounded up two suspects on Motor Cycle bearing registration. No. JK02AT-2431 coming from Railway station towards Shivaji Chowk and upon checking 14 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
Stating that the suspects were identified as: Manpreet Singh S/o Gurcharan Singh R/o Channi Rama, Jammu and Narinder Singh S/o Daler Singh R/o W.No. 10 H.No. 49 Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri A/P Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, Police in it’s above quoted statement further said that another case FIR No. 163/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered in PS Gandhi Nagar and accused too was arrested. Stating further that the overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma,Police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause.
