4 drug peddlers held in Srinagar, psychotropic substances recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesdays said that it has arrested four drug peddlers & seized four vehicles in Srinagar and also recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that officers from Police Station Nowhatta arrested four drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession, stating therein further that the said accused have been identified as Nasser Maqbool son of Maqbool Ahmad resident of SaidaKadalRainawari, Mudasir Ahmed Najar son of Mohd SadiqNajar resident of NaidKadal Khanyar, Aqib Ahmed Shah son of Nisar Ahmed Shah resident of Dar MohallahSoura and JaseemMushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmed resident of Ranghama Nowhatta.
Stating further that four vehicles used in the commission of crime have also been seized, Police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Nowhatta and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
